Mama on Parade
Like many people getting into the online space, I started a blog.
Mama on Parade was my first blog and it has gone through a wide range of design concepts.
When I first started this blog, I didn’t really understand the importance of proper branding. I just wanted a place to write about my experiences with motherhood and I felt like a blog would be a great place to do that.
Little did I know how involved it would be.
Even understanding coding and the tech aspects like I did still meant that I struggled a bit trying to figure everything out.
Between researching how to make WordPress fully work for me to figuring out which host was the best and why, I was busy. Then I found out about Pinterest and SEO and my mind really was blown.
If you didn’t know this about me, I’m a bit of a research nut. I love finding out everything about about problem so that it is no longer a problem for me.
That meant taking many, many courses and following experts surrounding online business, blogging, SEO, Pinterest, and more to make sure that I could turn my fledgling blog into a full blow success.
With the creation of my freelancing business, my blog has taken a bit of a backseat and I don’t write for it as consistently as I should. That’s okay though because it still pulls in consistent traffic and income thanks to the steps that I took in the beginning.
It runs almost on autopilot these days and continues to see more organic traffic each and every month. SEO may be the long game, but it is definitely the most profitable. I can’t wait to see where this blog goes and how it continues to evolve.
